Matt Stairs signed a minor league contract with the Nationals and will be invited to training camp. He has every chance of making the big club as the primary lefty hitter.
Stairs, who turns 43 in February, has already played for the Expos, A's, Brewers, Pirates, Royals, Tigers, Blue Jays, the Phillies and Padres.
